Band per criterion

Task achievement or response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy, for each task. Task 2 counts double, as in the real exam.

Corrections you can learn from

Each error is quoted from your essay with the correction and a short note, plus an improved version of your own text.

Academic and General Training

Academic Task 1 uses real-looking charts, graphs and tables; General Training Task 1 is a letter.

Paper option

Prefer pen and paper? Print the answer sheet, write by hand and upload photos. Your handwriting is read word for word and you confirm it before marking.

Questions

How accurate is the AI band?
Marking was checked against a calibration set of essays at known bands: the average difference was about a quarter of a band. Treat it as a practice estimate, not an official score.
What happens if I write under the word limit?
Short answers are marked as an examiner would mark them: under-length writing usually lowers the Task Achievement or Task Response band.
Can I see a model answer?
Yes. After marking you see a Band 8-9 model answer for each task.
